HEALTH ADVANCEMENT RESEARCH TEAM

(HART)

The Health Advancement Research Team (HART) is a group of academics with a focused research remit addressing a wide range of health- and body-related issues.

Research activities span ‘blue skies’ fundamental research through to the design, management and undertaking of specific intervention and evaluation projects. The multi-disciplinary team draws upon a range of methodological specialisms and expertise in various disciplines such as psychology, sociology, biomechanics, nutrition, and physiology.

Alongside flourishing academic research, we have considerable experience of evaluation projects, such as those investigating aspects of the delivery, efficiency and quality of social interventions designed for the purposes of health improvement, including exercise referral schemes.

HART has conducted research into areas such as obesity, ageing & physical  activity and childrens’ physical activity, and evaluation projects such as the Lincolnshire Obesity Prevention SchemeSwim for Health and Play for Life.
