ABOUT DMU SQUARE MILE

Sign-up to DMU Square Mile (CLICK HERE)

To get recognised by employers in the martketplace it is important to gain new skills and experiences. Through the DMU Square Mile programme you can take part in our unparalleled opportunities to provide yourself with an edge over other graduates.

Employers recognise that graduates who have volunteered tend to make better employees as they demonstrate the ability to work outside of the lecture theatre environment.

Our volunteering opportunities can help you enrich your university experience by helping the community and taking satisfaction from the positive changes you deliver to the local area.

Your efforts will be recognised in your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) at the end of your study and can be used for your CV. Your hours will also be recorded with DSU volunteering.

We have over 40 projects running this year, most of which provide opportunities for volunteering. But you can also come to us with a project or event idea, which we may be able to put in place.

Please register with us using the form below to be kept updated with current and upcoming opportunities.

If you have queries email mile2volunteering@dmu.ac.uk or phone (0116) 257 7135.

De Montfort University is committed to providing a public good beyond the campus boundaries.

To demonstrate this commitment, DMU’s pioneering Square Mile programme offers a range of projects that draw upon academic expertise to work with the community to improve health, education and job prospects in Woodgate, Fosse and Newfoundpool in Leicester.
